Naturally you have some questions…
and I have some answers:

  • To make sure that we can make the most out of our day together all strategy, content (website copy, images, fonts, graphics) must be supplied prior to the design day. I will also need your wish list of your web design edits in order of priority before the day.

    But don’t worry! I have lots of in depth information to guide you through the content creation process and what I need when.

  • You bet! I often do an entire basic website on a Squarespace Design Day

  • The actual Design Day is spent designing the desktop version of the website. Starting the day after (usually), I will design for mobile to ensure your site looks good on all the popular device sizes.

  • Depending on what platform your website is on and what content we need to keep, there are some options for transferring over data. Typically I find clients with an old website on these platforms just want a fresh start so I would build a brand new website with brand new content provided by you. We can discuss your particulars on a consult call.

  • You need to be virtually available throughout the day. Providing quick feedback will be the key to making the day a success. Our quick communication will prevent any unnecessary delays or wasted time.

  • Yes. You can pay ½ of the payment when booking and then the other ½ is due just before the Design Day.

  • Since I have a very limited number of spots for Design Days, there will not be any refunds given.

    If you absolutely can't make our Design Day timeframe then contact me to see about rebooking your slot within 90 days of the original date. Just make sure to give me at least 2 weeks notice prior to our Design Day to avoid a fee and to allow me to fit someone else into that day slot.

  • During our consult call and strategy call I will be able to give you a very good idea of what I will be able to accomplish on your site.

    Although I work quickly and efficiently it is important to note that you are not purchasing an end result, but a block of my time.

    You have the option to book as many more full or half days that you want. If you prefer to follow the tutorial videos I provide and finish up yourself you can feel free to do that instead.

  • Yes. I provide 30 days of post support to answer questions about the work done on our Design Day together as well as provide custom videos for you to be able to update the pages I have designed for you.

  • When you click on the button to book a Design Day you will be able to view the potential dates available for Design Days. I only have a limited number of spots per month but typically there is an opportunity to get help in a very timely manner.

  • No worries! I have done Design Days for people around the world. I am located in the Central Time Zone but we can work out an arrangement and time that works for both of us. We can discuss this on a consult call.

  • You can schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if a Design Day would be the right fit for you right here!

  • I do recommend moving to the new 7.1 platform and not investing any money on a 7.0 site as Squarespace will no longer be adding new features or improvements to 7.0. I can help you move your content over to the new platform and get you set up with a more modern, easier to use site.

    I do not offer updates to a 7.0 site for this reason.

What do I need to do to prepare for a Squarespace Design Day?

What if I don't have an existing Squarespace site? Can you build me a brand new website in just one day?

You bet! I often do an entire basic website on a Squarespace Design Day but it is very dependent on the amount of content you have on your pages, the amount of customizations required and the amount of changes requested on the Design Day.

I have a website currently but it is on Wix (or Weebly, or Wordpress) etc. Can you use my website content to make a new Squarespace site?

Depending on what platform your website is on and what content we need to keep, there are some options for transferring over data. Typically I find clients with an old website on these platforms just want a fresh start so I would build a brand new website with brand new content provided by you. We can discuss your particulars on a consult call.

What about the mobile site? Will my Squarepace site look good on mobile after our Design Day?

YES! The actual Design Day is spent designing the desktop version of the website. Starting the day after (usually), I will design for mobile to ensure your site looks good on all the popular device sizes. I do testing to make sure it looks good on common device sizes such as phones, tablets and desktops.

How available do I need to be on the Squarepace Design Day?

You need to be virtually available throughout the day. Providing quick feedback will be the key to making the day a success. Our quick communication will prevent any unnecessary delays or wasted time. You do not to be at your computer all the time, but you need to be in touch so you can provide feedback or answers within a quick turnaround.

What if we don't get through my whole wish list on the Squarespace Design Day?

During our consult call and strategy call I will be able to give you a very good idea of what I will be able to accomplish on your site. 

Although I work quickly and efficiently it is important to note that you are not purchasing an end result, but a block of my time. 

You have the option to book as many more full or half days that you want or even hourly work. It is very flexible!

If you prefer to follow the tutorial videos I provide and finish up yourself you can feel free to do that instead.

My site is on Squarespace 7.0. Can you help me still?
